Top Strings...

The Top String is a very important part of your lacrosse head. It is the first step when stringing a stick. Like a lot of parts in stringing there are many ways to string a Top String. Below are the possible ways you can choose to string yours.

9 Diamond Top String

The 9 Diamond Top String is by far the most common way to string a Top String. This is the easiest method to learn and it uses a 9 diamond row of mesh. This involves skipping every other mesh hole as you string the mesh to your stick. This approach is recommended for beginners.

10 Diamond Top String

The 10 Diamond Top String approach was made popular by the lacrosse star Kyle Harrison. It is a newer way to string a Top String, but it is becoming more and more common. This method is very similar to the 9 Diamond Top String, but instead of using a 9 diamond row, it uses a 10 diamond row of mesh. This approach uses all of the mesh holes, lacing each one up to the top of the plastic, not just every other one. This approach is recommended for stringers who have had some experience with the 9 Diamond Top String.

9 Diamond Triangle Top String

The 9 Diamond Triangle Top String is the most complicated of these three top string approaches. This style involves not one, but two pieces of topstring, while the other two types only involve one. This method starts out with the completion of the regular 9 Diamond Top String.  Next, you bring in the second piece of string to lace the pieces of mesh that were not pulled to the plastic with the regular top string. In the end, the Top String looks like a series of mini triangles. This approach is recommended for stringers who have mastered both of the above methods.
